Movies 12

Movies 12 is an excellent free animation program. You can download it from me here. Although there are others out there, such as Unfreez, I have yet to find one besides Movies 12 that allow you to set the time delay between frames. This is just a short and simple tutorial on how to use it :D

The Program

When you open Movies 12, you should see somthing similar to that. Up at the top, you have the toolbar. Bottom left, you see a list of some files in your computer. The space in the middle, that's where your frames will show up. The other space, to the bottom right? That will display the animation. That's another reason why Movies is better than Unfreez- you can preview it before you save!

The Toolbar

When you open the program, at the top, you should see that. I have circled the more important ones. Now, I'll tell you what they are, left to right.
First, we see the new animation button. Click it, and all your frames will be wiped away. The next button is to save your animation. (You have to preview it first). The next button deletes the current selected frame, the next changes the time delay on a certain frame, and the final button allows you to preview your animation.

A Quick Tutorial

In the bottom left hand corner, where you see your files, find the frames you want to animate. In order to put them into the frame area, double click them. To change the delay between frames, click on a certain frame, then on the stop watch. Once you've got them arranged to your liking, click the film button with the blue background. Wha la! You can see the preview of your animation. If you like it, hit the the floppy disk at the top and save it! If not, continue tweaking until it's perfect. The below button was animatied in movies 12:
