Adding Smilies to Cutenews
Have you ever wondered how you get custom smilies to work on Cutenews? I'm here to demistify the process!
Step One
First, you need to actually create the smilies. I wouldn't make them any bigger than 25x25, but it's your call. Save them all as .gif and upload them to Cutenews>Data>Emoticons. You may need to overwrite some of the smilies already there.
Step Two
Log in to Cutenews. Go to Options>System Configurations>General. You should see a form called 'smilies'. Erase what is currently there and add the names of your smilies, seperated by a comma
without the .gif. If you had a smiley named 'happy.gif' and one named 'mad.gif', you would put happy, mad. You don't need a space between the comma and the next word! Then, all you have to do is hit 'Save Changes'. To see your new smilies, go to add news, and look in the litle gray area to the side of the text box. Smilies!
